Delusion?

RE: Dellusion?
Why question as poll? If I vote, do you prefer me to reply down my answers?

If you wish to reply, but not necessarily. I'm trying not to have any expectations, but they always seem to creep in. You should be able to do multiples now, thanks to Leo.

RE: Dellusion?
Wheres the "all of the above, none of the above, and then more" option? Those who make elaborate claims about personal experiences best described as supernatural are delusional. This isn't really a prerequisite for belief, and there are many other reasons a person could be, would be, or is religious. It isn't really the act of being religious itself that I would call delusional, it's the litany of things so often attached.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

You can now select more than 1 answer, and also not vote.

I've also edited the title of the thread, before anyone thinks it's about computers. Big Grin

Nothing wrong with theistic beliefs, as long as you don't expect everyone to agree with you. IMO it's when people start claiming things as "truth" that the problems occur.

You know when you post it's hard to use you as a stand in for a hidden god R.
(lol, nice to see you posting though)

I voted for something else. They are not true and they retard human development.

That's cool. Thanks Leo? Anyway, I'll bite.
If there's the poll: "They are delusion" instead of this poll, "Are they delusion". I would vote that poll. Why?

Theists are delusional because they persist on believe in the god despite of their ignorance or [willful ignorance?] of their incapable in proving the existence of god. After losing the argument to support the existence of god of all means - so theists had to push faith out of their ignorance of the definition of faith.

Evidence and faith is mutually exclusive.

They don't realise they are subscribing to bullshit. Being indoctrinated into religious dogma sabotages their capacity for critical and skeptical thinking. I was no different. Despite how obnoxious some of them can be, quite a few live in fear and in doubt because of their evidence-free beliefs. It paralyses them. They are most pitiable in this regard and I can only hope they learn to enjoy and cherish life rather than wasting it away fearing the wrath of an old magic man who lives in the clouds.
