If a woman is a week before her due date and she has a catastrophic life event resulting in her believing it's best not to have the baby at all, I feel it would be ok to terminate at that point if that's what she thinks is best for herself and/or her family. I don't think it should be illegal nor do I think it would be immoral for her to make such a choice. I believe that women are capable of deciding what is right for themselves and their potential children.

Well I'd have phrased it a bit  more mildly, but then again that's the Min we've all come to know and love.

But as I brought up earlier, when I read the Bible, it seems to me to be supportive of abortion in Numbers chapter 5, at least when dealing with an unfaithful wife. And I see nothing in there that specifically suggests otherwise. So I've never figured out why they got onto this whole issue of claiming abortion is a Christian issue. It's not a valuing of parenthood, or else we'd see more legal protections for working mothers, poor mothers, etc, as I discussed above. It's not a universal valuing of life, or we wouldn't have the death penalty in this country. And as I say it's not actually in the Bible itself, but inferred... and from where, I can't even figure out!

According to the fairy tale a man's life begins when he's made from dirt and a woman's life begins when she's made from a man's rib.  

That pregnancy thing and abortion is a real mystery.  It must have something to do with dirt and ribs and maybe sons of God.  Anyway, since God is going to kill us all anyway does abortion really matter?  Even Job said that he wished he had never been born and he was a fan of God.  

The muslims say that all babies go to paradise so what better way to get there than to be aborted?  And everyone wants to go to paradise, right?   You might not get into the ritzy five star paradise but even the budget one is better than the lake of fire.  So rejoice; there's no reason to get all glum.  Paradise awaits.

I concur Rocket. Really nice to see level headed well reasoned responses without emotion derailing the discussion. This is without a doubt an emotional topic and in my mind a blueprint for how a discussion should take place. Make your points, be respectful, acknowledge others points and end the discussion cordially. No judgment, no resentment, no anger. High fives all around. We be big kids now

Randy is just annoying and rude. Which wouldn't really matter if it wasn't for him constantly whining (or whinging if you prefer ) about other people being rude to him. Generally I just ignore him because he's not really that fun. I prefer the prof for crazy personally.

But I don't think most people here insult him because he's a Christian. Kp is a Christian and I really like him.
