This is more than just some little invader changing my default browser. I've had no luck correcting this thing using the standard layman's processes.
Have you tried the following tool?

I've tried both of these ideas. Twice.
No matter what I do, I cannot get Google back on my home/new tab option. I fucking hate this shit. It's such a pain in my ass.

Check your Add/Remove and uninstall anything that may be to do with Yahoo or some other advertising shit.
This is not necessarily malware by the way, to be clear. But it does sound annoying.

It isn't necessarily malware, but it sounds like it could be. Try what Irrational has said and get back to us, this definitely sounds really annoying for you.

I think it's something he has installed. Otherwise it would affect only one browser, not all of them. I've seen several times where 3rd party software has a click through option during install to set Yahoo as your search engine. If you're moving quick you might leave that box clicked. Usually it's audio/video codecs or open source apps of some kind that use it as a revenue source for their product.
If you can remember when it started, you might be able to look through the Add/Remove programs and pinpoint what program is the culprit from the install date.

True, forgot about that possibility.

Seriously, though, Cinj, Yahoo is fucking annoying enough that I would consider a fresh install to make it go away.
I use that shit for fantasy football and nothing else.

Thank you all.
I will continue to investigate (and fume over) my dilemma.
