I have often felt like a behemoth because of my height and, when I was younger, wanted to be more average female height. On the plus side of being tall, tho, I don't need a stool to reach things on tall shelves

I had a much taller roommate (a woman) who used to put the coffee mugs on the highest shelf.

Fuck that all to fucking hell.

I currently live in one of the handicap enabled units. Besides being on the first floor and making me feel like I live in a hobbit hole, it has the advantage of surfaces and shelves being lowered a couple inches. You have no idea how wonderful this makes me feel.

A lover of mine (who worked out the angle of difference in our heights to be 42° because he is a dick) swears up and down that it's a "short person's world", but he only says this until he sees me sit at a desk with my butt at the back of an office chair. To have my feet firmly planted on the ground, the chair must be almost all the way down. But to sit comfortably at a desk to type, it must be almost all the way pumped up, and thus my toes barely touch the ground. My boss literally had to give me a footstool to keep me from getting numb legs.

It's true.  One of Lia's neurologists is a friend of ours.  I made the mistake of mentioning her profession to some gardening friends during our last garden/studio party and one older woman just would not stop pursuing her with health related questions.  Here it was a Sunday, she'd come over to enjoy some down time and this one woman just wouldn't get a clue.
