Why More Americans Want to Own Guns
RE: Why More Americans Want to Own Guns
Too bad, 'Murrica.  Looks like you missed out on some more bang-bang fun.

I'm sure he had a good reason.

I guess that depends on your definition of crazy.

Crazy is thinking it's about rights when it is about volume and lack of pragmatism.

We need a consolidated mass shootings thread, I think.

We don't have a right to murder people.

Some of my cousins have "the Big Fifty Club", being the fifty people with the most guns. The average for that group is ~170 guns.  This may help show that the problem isn't as ubiquitous as it sounds.

Holy cow!  Who needs that many guns?  Wow.  You can only shoot two at a time!  And if you need to hit what you're shooting at, you would be better to use only one . . .

It's not a question of need.  Why does someone need more than one car?  Or 50 pairs of shoes? Or ...

There are collectors of all sorts of things, including guns.

It's rare that someone dies from getting hit by a shoe.

Did you report them? Any licensed dealer -- and all retail sellers are federally licensed -- must see your ID, have you complete a 4473, and he must also initiate a NICS check:  http://smartgunlaws.org/federal-law-on-b...nd-checks/

Your purchase was clearly handled in an illegal manner. Did you report it? Will you be doing so?

I was corrected on this recently, Thump.  It so happens that the possession of a firearms permit in some states (permit to purchase) obviates the point-of-sale NICS check.

A NICS check is performed for issuance and renewal of the license.

Not germane to my point.

My statement was about want vs. need.
