I've glimpsed the political comedians' Promised Land: the Trump/Christie ticket (the bombast, the megalomania, the bullshit!). George W. Bush/Dick Cheney, Sarah Palin, and Mitt Romney were just the appetizer courses. Bad as they were, as endlessly stupid and venal as they could be, they didn't have the heft to sink the GOP once and for all.

Trump/Christie just might be able to pull that off.

Now, I've long predicted that the Establishment GOP will find some way to fuck Trump, even if they have to resort to a brokered convention. I stand by that prediction. But -- damn! -- I'll be disappointed if it turns out I'm right. I'm ready to see grown men weep on Fox News. I'm ready for the public mass nervous breakdown on the Right that would ensue if Trump got the nomination. I'm ready for the torches and pitchforks.

In less time than it takes to fart they've already dug up Romney's gushing acceptance of Trump's endorsement in 2012.

I'm hoping for an after party where he decides on an independent run.

Trump's tweet is a beauty: "Why did Mitt Romney BEG me for my endorsement four years ago?" I think that Romney just helped the Don.

I think you're right. Like most of them, Romney would fuck up a cup of coffee. It's a good measure of the GOP's desperation to submarine Trump that they're letting Romney out of his cage at all. Usually when someone so thoroughly embarrasses the party (Bush II, Nixon, etc.), they are driven into the wilderness never to be heard from again.

Romney is the exact type of shithead that Trump's fans ( I won't call them voters) hate with a white-hot passion.  A useless stuffed suit who walks the party line and who is an abject failure who lost to a black, muslim, socialist,, kenyan.

Romney has magic underwear to protect him from a Trump administration, what about the rest of us though ??

Y'know, the military is already on record they don't have to follow unlawful orders (and were looking at Trump when uttered) so, just for the humor value alone, I'm leaning towards Trump now.

And yes, I'd take a hummer from Mitt too.
