Why I don't like expensive things....

RE: Why I don't like expensive things....
As far as lifestyle choices go, I think we are all unique.

Make a list of priorities in life and you'll struggle to find 2 people who agree in the order ...
Even if you double blind it, you'll find major discrepancies even amongst long time married couples, etc.

I like to use the fridge concept.
Monitor 100 women in a white goods store and most will buy different model fridges to suit their needs, desires and priorities.
Even those who buy the same model will usually buy it for completely different reasons.

We've all got a finite amount of time, and funding. How we prioritise our life in that time is as unique as our fingerprints.

In the profession I'm learning, higher quality appliances and shears made from Japanese steel are going to be the difference in my giving someone a crappy haircut, done with $60 shears or a professional haircut done with $200-400 shears.

Quality does matter and you get what you pay for.

OMG! Who the fuck pays 400 bucks for a small pair of scissors?!
Show me photo!

It's probably Aussie steel but Japanese workmanship.
Then again, we only make shears to fleece sheep!

Google Japanese steel shears. Jowell makes some really nice ones that I'd like to have.

PS...shears cut hair. Scissors cut paper. Big difference if you want a professional cut done by someone who knows the difference.

The ones I got in my school kit are by Sharkfin. They also came with a pair of thinning shears and a razor with a guard. No, not the kind of razor that looks like a "T". This one looks like one sided shears and is used for carving and texturizing.

I went out with a hair dresser years ago and boy did she get pissed off when I used her expensive German scissors to mull up.
