For example, I can just walk into the ladies' room, and if challenged, I'll say I'm actually "a woman". I have a vagina. I'm just also on male hormones and such. I've had lots of operations, making me look extremely like a man, I just haven't had sexual reassignment.

What are they going to do, insist I show them my vagina?

And this fucking garbage: "They will attack people!" But they don't. It's like, "Atheists would murder everyone! They have no morals!" But they don't.

As a side not, I'm fascinated by this idea that religion may be being classed as a mental illness. Is this for real? It's about time something was done to stop people getting away with negligence on religious grounds.

It's not for real, and it would be a bad thing if it happened. Getting away with negligence in religious grounds is an entirely separate issue from religion being classified as a mental illness, and should be dealt with on its own terms.

I agree, it didn't seem a very sensible way of going about it. My "joke" radar was going off a bit too much to take it seriously. I was imagining riots in the streets.

emphasis mine

Seems to me that there are huge corporations who do just this. If you're going to target the LGBT community and say they are putting pressure on companies, let's be real. Corporations have paid lobbyists on their staff who constantly send lawmakers gifts and take them places, all so the big corporations can get those easy tax breaks and laws that favor themselves.

Show me where the LGBT community is paying lobbyists money to "circumvent due process". Due process has to do with an individual's rights under the law.

Due process:
1. As an individual you have the right to a fair and speedy trial.
2. You have the right to be heard in front of a jury of your peers.
3. You have the right to be considered innocent before being found guilty, via that fair and speedy trial, in front of a jury of your peers.

So narcissism the opposite of me basically lol. I'm kind of nice to my friends and I struggle to be polite to everyone else because most people are dicks. Being charming to most people is kind of difficult lol.

It is really irritating and annoying that some people think equality is a call to ban religion. Same crap said about transgendered now was said about gays, and before that interracial marriage and blacks and women. It is not persecution to include.

No, it's not. But those who desperately want to feel oppressed and for their interpretation of the ravings of John of Patmos to be 'true' will cling to any slender reed they can find.

We are to be compassionate to one another for the trials we are in. I have schizophrenia and bipolar and to be honest, prefer that, over being  stuck with wrong physical gender. It's one of the worse things I can imagine going through.

However that is not to disrespect the person. I have great respect to those who seek help of others, acknowledge their issue and change their gender realizing they are being true to themselves as best as possible.

Being a man stuck in a woman's body and being a woman stuck in man's body is a disorder and it's of mental type, but this just semantics.

Whatever you call it, you shouldn't disrespect the person for it. It's definitely not their fault.

I agree with everything on this post.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

If those are indeed psychological disorders, in what ways would you say they are different from identifying as a different sex?

People who identify with a different species (if there are any, I doubt there are) do not have matching brain scans.

There is also no discernible difference in brain scans between different races, such as there is between male and female.

Transsexuals have the same type of brains as the gender that they identify with.

Yes, there are such people, though it is very rare. They are called "otherkin."

Ok, I can see what you're saying about the brain scan and it makes sense, and it does further set them apart from the examples I mentioned above. However, couldn't it still be considered some form of disorder for the brain to be one sex and the rest of the body to be a different sex? Isn't that the crux of the word "disorder," in its most basic form, that something is not "ordered" properly?

I don't, who made you boss? Nobody. Your fake pity is really nothing more than an excuse to feel superior, and one based on a very bigoted book. That is not empathy, that is selfish narcissism. Transgendered are not broken humans for you to fix or feel sorry for.

Of course it is not their fault, because they have nothing to be sorry for. You should be ashamed that you think what you have is real empathy.

I would say so. There's a bit more to narcissistic behavior than just what I posted. It includes self-admiration, never apologizing or admitting they are wrong, always needing to be the center of attention (usually they throw a fit if their target doesn't idolize them), recruiting "flying monkeys" aka people who believe they can do no wrong and who see the victim as crazy. The flying monkeys also are occasionally used by the N to do the N's dirty work, oftentimes without the flying monkey realizing it. N's are also manipulative - some to the point that they can fool judges and lawyers - especially in cases of custody battles.

Every one of us has narcissism in us - it is natural to want to feel honored for a job well done or to be recognized for one's hard work, but the N takes this to an entirely higher level. N's oftentimes have issues with addiction as well.

Not in a medical sense.
