Here is the electoral college situation. It's pretty bad for any Republican at the present time but for Trump, it's lethal. Simply put, he's pissed-off too many people. He has no realistic chance to win.

Actually it favors republicans because it gives more votes per person to small rural states. Republicans are losing, because they are losing the popular vote. The electoral college just magnifies the results.
