Sure, what he did was illegal since every conceivable act known to man is illegal in America.  But he got away with it because no one in authority had the balls to charge him with a crime.  Has the government charged him with any specific crimes?  Did he get charged for running an organized crime syndicate?  Why not?

The last Presidential debate  was the Lincoln-Douglas debate.  The crap being peddled today is nothing more than vanity press conferences.  Trump would have a mental breakdown if he ever had to do some serious thinking about national issues.  But then the "debate" moderators never ask any candidate serious questions.  They would all flame out just like Trump would.

He swindled thousands out of their money. He committed fraud with Trump University. New York state government is suing him for $40 million over it.

Him doing something illegal but not being charged criminally is something you like in a presidential candidate? Then you'll be just fine with Hillary.

If New York State is suing for money instead of charging him with a crime it's just a shakedown.  Since Trump claims that he's so wealthy he should offer them a settlement, say $4 million payable within 24 hours for dismissal of all present and future claims.  If he goes to court he could be out of $40 million plus maybe the same amount in legal bills.  The faster he pays the extortion the more money he will save so even if he has to give the hyenas the $40 million he could save tens of millions in legal expenses with a quick settlement.

Trump's advisers are dolts. Not that I think the Trump University shit will stick since he appears to be coated with Teflon, but I have a different thought on the matter.

With the rise of his celebrity because of his show, he has made a habit of putting his name on anything that will turn a buck. Trump doesn't drink, but has a vodka with his name on it. He has ties and other merchandise branded with his name. I think there's an element of truth that this education scam is no different. All he would have to do is come clean and say it was simply a marketing arrangement and did not oversee the operation or quality of product. This isn't too far fetched. If this was the case he could easily make amends and be done.

I don't think it matters either way, just a thought.
