Thanks to Jenny for giving me his address, thanks to Losty for calling me and sorry for not seeing the messages sooner. I called the police, gave them the full address and informed them of the immediacy of his suicidality. They told me they were onto it and another report had recently been made (I assume that must have been Robvalue's).
When Stimbo gets through this I urge with the most profoundest intensity that he gets all the help that he needs to ensure this never happens again. We all love you Steve. You matter.  RE: The Newly Departed thread: announcements (departures)

What a bummer. I hope he gets through this. It was a few years back when I thought he might be headed in this direction and he pulled himself up. He has the strength, just needs a hand. I sure hope someone can meet with him.

They're at his address but there have been no further updates. They just know the police are at his address. They told me it is probably a good sign that there are no further updates on the situation besides the police being at his address. They said to call back again in half an hour earliest, hour latest.

So, let me see if I understand this. In Britain, when the police go to check on someone who is suicidal they don't just shoot them? What a remarkably novel concept. We should try that here. |
