Gawd that's hawt!

I sincerely hope you'll stick around. Heart

What is so interesting about it?

It's just nice to see someone dishing it right back to you. As "interesting" as it seems, I said it was hawt. Are you going to try and twist my words now to indicate that by hawt I meant interesting?

If I were interested in what you seem to want, I would have conversed very differently than I am now. But nevermind this little tidbit from me, you go on imagining things if you like.

You claim to be interested in debate, and then you bandy about terms like fear, and phobia.

Do you really think your presumptive and judgmental speech is conducive to a worthwhile communication?

Do you think you have a phobia? I wouldn't presume, though I do think you may have something worthwhile to say about it.

And yes, I definitely think there is an irrational fear of labels out there. There's no other way I can describe it, given what I see.

"My views on god(s) are malleable, and I'm not bound to belief nor unbelief. I hold no position on the existence nor non-existence of god(s)..."

Where in my OP do I display an irrational fear in exposing my beliefs?

@EP:

Then why did you bother asking the question if you weren't at all interested?

Clearly, judging from your response, I'm not the one imagining things. But you keep on doing you.

Now I'm confused. I don't know what else to do but to repeat my previous reply, as it is just as relevant to your own newest one.

Do you think you have a phobia? I wouldn't presume, though I do think you may have something worthwhile to say about it.

And yes, I definitely think there is an irrational fear of labels out there. There's no other way I can describe it, given what I see.

I'm not interested in a sort of forum duel, which appeared to me to be what you wanted.

An example would be not calling oneself an atheist because one fears said negative associations with such a label.

It's the [fear] of associating oneself with a label where others might say... "Oh, you're one of those people".

But you see, this cannot be escaped by me, because I have said I am one who chooses (for himself) not to wear a label, and in so doing, I have been thus labeled... "Oh, you're one of those".

So no, I don't fear labels, I just don't have much use for them personally, though others have a need for me to wear one.

Except for the fact that we use labels for everything, that is how language works, and without them you wouldn't be able to speak, comprehend and think about things.

So again, what is it with this phobia about labels? What purpose does it serve?

You responded to ME. No presumption was required.

I think you may be reading that reply of mine through the filter of your own expectations. Let me clarify things for you, lest this gets out of hand. I am not saying you have a phobia, I may think or suspect you have one, but I'm not going to accuse you of such until it becomes my business what and how you think. Instead, I'm merely interested in talking about it, and I think you may even know more about it than me. I may be wrong about that, of course, but we won't know until we hear what you have to say about it, do we?

You don't want to "talk" about anything. Your presumptions are obvious and thinly veiled.

I've told you plainly - you refuse to allow my responses. Your above quote is quite telling, and signals the end of my input into your narcissistic feeding frenzy.

I see no forum duel here. Did you or did you not ask me what was so interesting about it?
