Yet here's a scenario where 4 black guys beat up a white man while saying "fuck white ppl", and all of the sudden you can't tell if this was racism? All of the sudden it doesn't matter whether it was or wasn't? All of the sudden race is irrelevant?

I respect you and dont mean to pick on you. This is only one example of the type of double standard that some of us keep seeing here in general.

Last I checked Ab said nothing about knowing or not knowing the motivation only the acts impact

Last I checked AB while guessing race to be a motive for xenophobia but even if it were not people would still be suffering and those in opposition to helping them would still be wrong

I can't speak for Ab but that's how I see it and I see no double standard

Bullshit! There was no fucking lie told. Sure. They admitted that it was a hate crime but they skirted the issue of what made it a hate crime, namely, a racially motivated attack by four black people against a mentally challenged white person. That's the issue I was getting at!

Even though I'm not one for labelling everything a "hate crime", I agree.

Be consistent. I don't know why when a white person is attacked with the attackers literally saying "fuck white people", there are people questioning it like "well is is a hate crime though? I'm not sure of the motivation".

Nobody would be reacting like that if it was a person of any other race, it would be (not incorrectly) "this is racism, this is hate crime". To spin it and make it about "they might have been attacking his disability instead" is just disingenuous.

We live in a world where bleeding-heart SJWs will (without any hard evidence) take up for a well-known Muslim Youtube prankster claiming he was "kicked off a plane for speaking Arabic", and look silly when proven wrong... and then in the same breath downplay racial motivation on a recorded documented case of torture to the tune of "fuck white people". Amazing.

What are you even talking about? Just about everybody said they either didn't see it or did and heard the perps say racist shit, making it likely racially motivated. Those who didn't weren't asked to be clearer about it. I called it a hate crime from the moment I entered this thread. I didn't say racially motivated because I figured you didn't need it fucking spelled out for you.

It's really, really hard not to think of someone as racist when they are this caught up in making sure people of other races get in trouble. Do any of you kick up this much fuss about white racial incidents? I'm not saying this doesn't deserve attention. I'm just pointing out that you do a lot to look racist while claiming you are not.

Or as someone pointed out pretty early on in the thread, the very definition of "hate crime" includes the motivation:

"a crime motivated by racial, sexual, or other prejudice, typically one involving violence."

Regina, I question the racial motivation on white on black crimes as much as I would for the other way around. Sometimes, people of different races have violent altercations that have nothing to do with their skin. The hesitation to call it a hate crime is not exclusive to black on white crime.

That said, again, this is clearly a hate crime.

Here's another one: if they said nothing about the kid's race, and were saying "fuck disabled people," I'd call that a hate crime against disabled people. A hate crime is just that: violence motivated against a group, including the disabled.

Even if it not racial( which remains likely) it's still hateful vile and uncivilized and I agree hate crimes are more then just race I think Tib kind of touched on that
