hello again
June 26, 2011 at 9:15 am
Hi, I was here briefly a couple of years ago, looking for help on a particular subject (which you all supplied, thanks for that).
I am returning, partly because I think we atheists are not making an impact. I know that church attendances are falling, but it seems that is due mostly to apathy. I read, and contribute to some religious blogs, but their believers are armour-plated.
Looking for new thoughts, approaches, etc etc. I am mostly interested in the nature of 'evidence' .
Thanks
K

We atheists ARE making an impact, and we are moving at the right speed in my opinion. Going any faster may cause open violence against us.

Why the hell would you care whether atheists are making an impact or not?
And evidence is entirely subjective. And very unspecified. Data supporting something is itself only data. Doesn't say what kind of data, doesn't say how it supports something, doesn't say why someone considers the data to be true.
Please give me a home where cloud buffalo roam
Where the dear and the strangers can play
Where sometimes is heard a discouraging word
But the skies are not stormy all day

Sae seems to have something up her butt here lately with a zest of antisocial attitude... how about turning it back a few notches?

The nature of evidence... as has a proper place in valid science?
Opinions on the metaphysical... as outside of valid science?
Believers and non believers have an interest in keeping both on track. I see no atheist cause supporting this.

Finally, something Sae and RevJem have something in common!
