Sally Yates, who had been appointed under Barack Obama, earlier ordered justice department lawyers not to enforce the president's executive order.
In a statement, the White House said Ms Yates had "betrayed" the department

She was essentially refusing to do her job, so it makes sense she was fired. But I respect her for standing up to the administration like that.

Really, is he just going to govern by silencing his critics?
And still his supporters cannot see the problem....sigh.

She questioned it's legality, which is her job. At least imho.

I'm not going to hold my breath, but it would be beautiful if Lindsey Graham could get one of the following to join him in a no vote for Jeff Sessions AG committee vote tomorrow. Although not as strong as the joint statement put out by Graham and McCain, the following committee members have openly criticized the executive order: Jeff Flake, Ben Sasse, Orrin Hatch, and Mike Lee.

She refused to defend the government in all the suits against the POTUS. Is it not the AG's/Justice Department's job to defend the federal government in these lawsuits? (Genuine question)

Well that sounds familiar ...
He also fired the acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and has replaced him with someone new.
