Wish I could, but I (understandably, I think) had a misunderstanding. There's not much more to say once you've hit that roadblock. I'm not apathetic, though. I'm still mildly amused.

The other I don't recall her name. But in that famous april fools prank, she greatly got butthurt about Shell's part of the prank. Lol alot of people did. I remember Napo kicking and screaming, swearing for revenge on the old mibbit chat channel.

Yeah, it was Eilonwwy.

I don't really remember her name, either. I think it started with an a. She fucking hated me. It was awesome.

Weird fact: After I left the forum on hiatus, a woman claiming to be the lady who adopted this member's kids contacted me on Facebook. She said that whatsherface was a liar, was never a stripper, etc. I never got deep into it because you never know if whatsherface was just trolling me, but the account on facebook looked old and used, so it seemed legit. She sent me a bunch of pictures too, and thanked me for calling her out. It was super strange.

Acrimonious partings with staff members are awkward.

I wasn't staff then, but I liked Eil. I know Tibs felt pretty weird about it. He'd met her IRL.

I liked Eli too.

I remember the whole thing being over her insisting that blame and responsibility were exactly the same thing basically. So suggesting a woman take sensible precautions in high risk situations was blaming her as far as she was concerned.

It's a shame she couldn't see past that because she was an otherwise great member.

It's not even that I disagree with her to a large degree. I do think women have to take sensible precautions because we live in a world where that is necessary. However, I do think suggesting a rape happened *because* of the victim's behavior is definitely blaming. She maybe took it one small step further than I would have. It's just a bummer that she thought that was a forum problem and not just something she disagreed about.

It wasn't that.

It was far simpler - she overextended her position, got defensive and did not back down. It became personal. The topic itself is irrelevant - she participated in similar discussions without incident. It was all a matter of face as far as I could see.

Unfortunate as it is, but it turns out that alienating people closer to your side is highly destructive, both to the argument and to the person. She self destructed over little. Perhaps something else in her life was destabilizing her - we wouldn't know about that though.

Yeah saying that a rape happened because of a victim's behavior is blaming. Saying that a victim is less likely to get raped if they take precautions but it's still emphatically not the victim's fault is just being realistic and not blaming.

@Moros

That's just how I remember it. It was all on that thread and then she left.

Yeah.... Moros was right about it being personal for her.

It was sad. She was one of my favorite members of the site.

Was that the same chick that would argue that people that kill in self-defense should be charged with murder? Like, even if you accidentally kill someone while trying to stop them from raping your child? Maybe I'm confused, but for some reason I'm thinking it was the same person.

Regardless, yeah, she went ape shit on you. I remember it being a pretty epic meltdown.

As for Eilonwwy, that was a little before my time, but if I remember correctly, she came back as a sock when I was on staff to check things out. She wasn't trying to be deceptive about it or anything. She admitted it was her right away..
