She has me on ignore on AF now and now I'm worried. She was one of my closest friends. I don't know what's going on.

One of the ways is the member sending you a PM - for whatever reason. And you can't reply, since you can't reply to a user having you on ignore. I noticed recently when someone having me on ignore thought it would be a good idea to PM me.

Because I can't send her a PM because there's no button to PM her. So I instead try to compose a new PM and put her as the recipient but when I try to send a message saying how I miss her and I'm worried about her and I hope she's okay... after I click send it it gives me the message: "You cannot send a message to Gemini because you're on their ignore list."

We've only ever been the greatest of friends so I don't know what's going on and I'm hoping she's okay.

Hmm, bummer. I'm sure she's just going through something. Happens here all the time.
