You hear sometimes people saying that the world is no more than a circus.
It's of course exagerated but when you see that an international conference convened in order to discuss racism invites Ahmedinajad as one of it'a major speakers ,than you cannot but laugh at it as a circus joke.
Ahmedinajad is ,as president of Iran, a senior representative of the darkest theocracy of our time, driven by Homeinism ideology.
Remember ayatollah Homeini? This is the man who toppled the Shah 30 years ago and installed instead an oppressive regime against elementary freedom of conscience and right of justice for his own people, all that in the name of a fundamentalistic Islam.
In the first years of the Homeinistic regime hundreds and may be thousands of people were beaten up or flogged in public or even killed for such abominable crimes as men showing themselves in public with shaven faces or women going unveiled or boys holding hands with girls.
This dark middle-age oppression seem to have been loosened a bit nowadays but "Revolutionary guards"or 'Morality guards"are still roamig the streets in search of such "unspeakable crimes" to be severely reprimanded.
Dealers who are caught selling narcotics are still condemned to death and hanged in public places.
May be that it was right for the Iranians to remove the Shah, it's for history to judge, but from the point of view of justice and freedom for all people as we understand it in our times ,the Homeinistic regime remains a condemnable oppressive regime .
Now, one can say that racism and internal oppression has nothing to do one whith the other, does it really?
The issue of racism has to do with justice and equality of rights for all citizens of a country ,all right,
but who is the man to fight against racism ?
Could it be a man who leads this dark theocratic oppressive regime in his own country?
The motives of this man are more than obvious -to deflect external criticism against Homeinism by pointing his finger in the direction of others and presenting himself as a fierce fighter for justice.
Racism is obviously a crime which should be eradicated all over the world, but putting this man Ahmedinajad as a major personality of the fight against racism is a joke of a kind fitted for no more than a circus .
