It's down to the people who play whatever it is that put the 'imagination' in it. Slagging off gaming and saying it doesn't have imagination compared to table top games is non-sensical, because of this very point.
That's all I basically wanted to say earlier anyways Feel free to disagree to your heart's content.
I'll always take the game that takes place via verbal description over one rendered for me by programmers, but it is clear that I am in the minority here.

Why play a tabletop game then? I have never had any trouble playing Mon, Pixies, Seals, or other games with my niece... as if we needed a template to have fun and make a story Completely free of dice too. As if imagination wasn't enough Please give me a home where cloud buffalo roam

Misses the point, deliberately, I think.

I think an entire era. No worries for the missing nostalgia, therefore.

So much for that entire era. I play a game as old as I am And I play board games when others will play with me. I happen to be the RISK champion in my family. Scrabble too. Chess as well. Othello. Sorry. Balderdash. Stratego. Boggle. Nostalgia is to have rose-tinted glasses. Given that I remember almost nothing from before I was 14: I have at best 4 years of 'nostalgia' to go off of here. And that isn't much Please give me a home where cloud buffalo roam

Thank you for underlining the rationale of this thread, Aerzia.
