A Quote For Atheist to consider :
RE: A Quote For Atheist to consider :
Quote:Oh come on. Don't give me that crap.

Stalin was a communist who killed a lot of people for resisting "communism." What that has to do with priests fucking little kids is beyond me but I guess when your argument has just been blasted to hell you are desperate.

Oh, and before you trot out Hitler, remember he was a self-professed xtian, too.

Speaking of Germany, let's not forget the crimes of Herr Von Popenfuhrer.

Quote:(CNN) - Accusations and revelations of sex abuse by Roman Catholic priests have been hitting American cities for a solid decade.

The now-global scandal broke in a big way in 2002 in Boston and has ensnared dioceses from Los Angeles to Kansas City to Memphis, along with many others.

But Philadelphia, where Archbishop Justin Rigali stepped down Tuesday - five months after the scandal struck his city – is different.

Pope accepts resignation of Philadelphia archbishop amid sex scandal

The scandal there could open a historic chapter in the abuse crisis, church watchers say, changing the way the American criminal justice system deals with church abuse and challenging the church’s claims that that reforms adopted in the wake of the Boston scandal have largely rooted out abuse.

“What makes Philadelphia devastating is allegations that priests who were facing credible accusation of sex abuse were still working in parishes as recently as February,” CNN senior Vatican analyst John Allen said. “This is not about misconduct that happened 50 years go. This is about the failures of today.”

Wikipedia- Joseph Stalin- Stalin followed the position adopted by Lenin that religion was an opiate that needed to be removed in order to construct the ideal communist society. To this end, his government promoted atheism through special atheistic education in schools, massive amounts of anti-religious propaganda, the antireligious work of public institutions (especially the Society of the Godless), discriminatory laws, and also a terror campaign against religious believers. By the late 1930s it had become dangerous to be publicly associated with religion.

Researchers before the 1991 dissolution of the Soviet Union attempting to count the number of people killed under Stalin's regime produced estimates ranging from 3 to 60 million.[88] After the Soviet Union dissolved, evidence from the Soviet archives also became available, containing official records of the execution of approximately 800,000 prisoners under Stalin for either political or criminal offenses, around 1.7 million deaths in the Gulags and some 390,000 deaths during kulak forced resettlement – for a total of about 3 million officially recorded victims in these categories.

Oh come on. Don't give me that crap. Both sides are guilty because there are always people who will pervert the belief (or for atheism non- belief) of something and use it for their own self gain because a simple fact of life is there are some messed up people in the world. Don't start that crap because there is just as much stuff like the above for atheist as there are Christians.

As Richard Dawkins says "Hitler and Stalin both had mustaches, but they didn't kill in the name of it." So with that response that I failed to waste my time reading most likely had to deal with atheist killing more people than religion. Have you ever heard of someone killing in the name of atheism? No. But you have heard people killing in the name of the Lord. Please come up with a better argument. And yet the bible has yet to prove that atheists doing something to harm the world? We do much more work helping people than you all do.

There's a lot of shit you need to fix. Accusing that Stalin killed in the name of Atheism is the most ignorant thing I've ever heard. Get your shit straight. Smile

This is a silly little statement I have heard many times from Christians. First off, it is impossible to be mad at something you don't believe exists. Second, atheists don't believe there to be a god, as in Yahweh your Christian god, because he has all the shortcomings of a jealous, vengeful, and psychopathic, meth-head which is wholly inconsistent with the concept of a deity. It's not that we don't want to believe in your god, but we can't believe in your god because of all these qualities.

You have God totalllllyyyy off. God IS love. You don't understand God at all. Try reading the New testament. Jesus' whole message is a message of humbleness and service and the love of God and to show that you can have an intimate personal relationship with God. Yes God is a jealous God but he sees us as though we are his bride because he loves us and we are cheating on him with other gods. Read the book of Hosea. It talks all about this from the view of God. God is angry with the Israelites for their idol worship and compares them to a cheating spouse and prostitute. You would be jealous too if your wife slept around with many men. God sees it the same way. But he's only jealous because of the intense amount of love for his people.

There must have been a reason Hitler wanted to kill the Jews, that one specific religion...? Wonder why? Let's just say he killed them in the name of Atheism, to make our religion look like the good guy.

Your argument doesn't explain what God has against atheists. I don't worship God or anyone else. Assuming he does exist (a false assumption, but I'll assume it anyway for the sake of argument) what does he have against me?

Does that mean god wants to have sex with me?

You can't even use the word sense in the right sentences just like in your name, so stop acting like you and god know everything. If GOD is love than why would he let dumbfucks like you live? Why would his existence cause wars. Why are there so many other gods. Something tells me he just wants popularity. God wouldn't need a race of idiots worshiping him. I/we understand god more than you do, and we can point out the bad effects of GOD. Think about this, GOD is just a belief, nothing more nothing less. It has no control over events that ever happened, it is just a belief. A belief Something one accepts as true or real; a firmly held opinion or conviction. There is no proof for it at all. The only person that doesn't understand god at all is YOU, for years people misinterpreted the bible and put your own meanings into it.

You need to get your stuff straight. There are many people who killed in the name of atheism in an attempt to get rid of the weaker (mentally and physically disabled or others) to "encourage survival of the fittest" or in Joseph Stalin's case to weed out Christians so that the government could have sole say in what the people should do the there was no other institution to do so. Now I am NOT saying that this is what atheism is about by any means at ALL. Actually i believe this is a total perversion of the original intent of atheism and I am merely portraying that people will pervert the original good intent of something and twist it to their own evil ways. It's a common fact of life that there are some messed up people in this world who use certain institutions as a structure for that they do when in fact their just messed up themselves. So I'm saying that obviously people who are messed up will cling to something as big Christianity and pervert it and do terrible things. These people give a bad name to both groups when they are not true followers of it at all. And i believe that is something everybody could agree with.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence - Carl Sagan

Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.

Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.

You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.
