Are you sure that's what Ehrman said?

No, I'm an Argument from Spartacus, and so's my wife!
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

From reading Carriers blog, I'm unsure what he is saying is the fallacy in the argument from Spartacus. Seeing how he appears to have just made it up, there isn't really any other info on it. Can you elaborate on what this fallacy is? Also, how was Ehrman refuted.... Carrier gave him a point in the debate for this one (not that I put a lot of stock in Carriers opinion)?
I may be mis-understanding what he is saying, but his blog post on this, appears to just be begging the question. Could you please clarify?

Well considering the snooty priests and Romans liked to go around killing anybody who mentioned Christianity, it's not surprising many people preferred to keep their heads down!
Nevertheless, 27 books about Jesus got through the net and were published, many of them written by the ex-bounty hunter Paul who had joint Roman/Jewish citizenship..

Did they, or is that more of the christian myth? Speaking of "Paul".....his bio seems too good to be true, the majority of it is acknowledged (even by batshit christers) to be less-than-historical, and his "letters" more creative writing than correspondence.

There were no priests in the first century, and little if any persecution of Christians, so the writers of the period would have no reason to keep their heads down.
