Letter to an Atheist.

To be fair Void I don't think anyone does. Whenever I've seen fr0d0 or Rayaan try and give reasoning for their views they receive just as much aggression towards their points as any other theist that comes onto the site.

I think too often on here we do tend to throw around the 'stupid' insults to many incoming theists, but I do also think that they are playing the victim card right now as well. Why come onto an atheist forum and expect anything other than opposition? If you can't take the heat don't toss yourself into the frying pan in the first place. Simple as.

I think this whole scenario is getting blown way out of proportion.

It could be another "help help! I'm being oppressed!" thing again.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence - Carl Sagan

Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.

Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.

You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.

Most of what I do is put humor in my posts. Usually humor that nobody else has fun with... but if I smile at it: it was worth it Smile

This, but not the rest. I agree with my brother on many things, and Rayaan is a fun man to hang with for me.

I regret to say that I found CoxRox a bit of a pain first time around and I see nothing to change my opinion.
That said, I find some others a pain, but you can't appreciate joy without experiencing pain!

At least some of us get along better than others (such as me, fr0d0, tackattack, and Ryft, for example). Big Grin

However, it is totally expectable that there is going to be mockery and bitterness in this forum here and there. Whenever it does happen, we shouldn't take it too seriously, and personally I don't get angry about these things and/or leave the forum. I try to put aside all the personal attacks and give my attention only to those comments which deal with the topic that I'm discussing. Also, I think it's mainly the arguments for my belief that atheists find to be ridiculous. It doesn't mean that there is anything wrong with me and my arguments for other things, nor my general intelligence.

In fact, I didn't receive as much aggression as fr0d0 and some of the other theists have undergone so far. But it's a good thing that they are still participating in this forum.

Maybe you don't Rayaan, but then again, you're not exactly ramming your beliefs down our throats and telling us we are all wrong. You only tend to give your views when it's asked, and I completely and utterly respect you for that.

Agreed raayan. I fail to understand Cox's complaint (though I have not followed his threads) still.... should he be looking for respect I think he just squashed any hope of acquiring it.

I have more respect for raayan, fr0d0, Tacky and Ryft who are clear and argue well for their position of a point of belief, and don't get all teary because some one may get frustrated and flame them.

It is very hard to really gauge what is being said and what is being inferred and really a measure of a persons self esteem if they are able to ignore the flame and get on with the question at hand.

I'm actually deleting this post, not because I'm worried about getting banned believe me I'm not, but it's to me personally degrading to have a full on rant on the internet even if I mean't most of it.

KichigaiNeko it was not positive about you put it that way.
