Massacre of the Innocents
RE: Massacre of the Innocents

Just like their names, the idea that there were 3 or that they were kings.  Jesus freaks had to embellish the story so their godboy didn't seem like some shlepper!  Just ignore Huggy.  He's being a fucking ass, as usual.

In any event, let's just cite what the bible actually says. From Matthew...

Any mention of two years travelling? Nope. Couple that with them travelling by camel, you get a range of some seven thousand miles which is absurd. They could have come from Japan or the US at that rate. The two year thing is entirely made-up crap post facto.

Well let's compare with what Mark, Luke and John claim about that. Maybe there is some corroboration in those gospels. Nope. Nothing, not even the magi.

On top of that, the entire concept of "magi" was plagiarised directly from Zoroastrianism.

All of it is simply tacked on BS.
*emphasis mine*
You clearly left that part out... Just more atheist dishonesty.

Feel free to pint out where two years travelling are claimed in the gospels. Clearly, you are unable to do so, else you would have done so.

All you have left is to hurl insults. How "christian" of you. Next you will point out any old crap in the bible as a distraction.

ETA: We all know it will be Mat. 2:16 next. You are fooling nobody.

I already posted it earlier in this thread, I just don't feel the need to repeat myself for obvious trolls.

Convenient, that, is it not? Confronted with someone who has read your bible, you run and hide behind baseless accusations. I even offered you to point out where the babble states that jebus was two when the magi showed up. You couldn't do it. I offered you the chance to point out where the babble stated that the magi set out two years early and you couldn't do it. I offered you the chance to point out where on earth this two year distant journey happened and you couldn't do it. I even suggested where you were going next, to Mat 2:16 and that really annoyed you because you know full well where that leads.

What are you afraid of? "The truth shall set you frep"

What you posted does not necessarily imply what you are claiming. So, fail.

Here you go.

Quote:16 When Herod realized that he had been outwitted by the Magi, he was furious, and he gave orders to kill all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity who were two years old and under, in accordance with the time he had learned from the Magi.

Clearly Herod didn't just randomly pick two years old, he determined the age from the Magi's own testimony.

Furthermore do you think the Magi immediately hopped on a camel and trekked off through the desert once they saw the star without provisioning for the journey?

It is implied through simple reading comprehension and critical thinking.

And the Baby Bear looked at his empty porridge bowl and concluded that someone had eaten it all.

Your fairy tales are no more convincing, Huggy.

What you are engaged in is called 'speculation' and can readily be dismissed as such. Perhaps Herod simply wanted a fudge factor. As it turns out, the magi weren't playing straight with Herod, so perhaps a bit of caution was warranted. Regardless, what the magi actually told him and why he felt it was necessary to give the order he did is simply unrecorded. Your speculation in the matter is worth dick.

That is assuming there were the magi, they came from the east, assuming there was the star they followed... the usual stuff, ofc
I liked the parts where these old yahoodies tolchock each other and then drink their Hebrew vino, and getting onto the bed with their wives' handmaidens.
