Then maybe you can put your own imagination to work and figure out how to keep members rather than losing members. Dismissing this only suggests that you have no lack of naivety.
I thought you were leaving. Apparently you are the exception to your own theory.
And yet more evidence of your lack of imagination. That I disagree that your theory is the only or primary one for explaining the changes doesn't show any naivety at all. In fact, your rebuttal only shows that you don't logic so well.

I believe A Theist said he would wait and see what happened, which his compatriots didn't even bother to do, so I'll give him kudos for that. Allowing us the space to compromise shows more integrity than others have employed.
To be clear, A Theist, I would never say you have integrity. I like our uncivil interactions the way they are.

Haha no in all seriousness though, I just meant you as a poster, based on what I've seen since you've started (re)posing on AF, and not you as a person, since I don't know you either. You just seem like a chill and genuinely nice theist. (So does CL, but there's been a lot of drama to call her chill at the moment).
You can't blame CL for what happened. The drama started when a civility section was created only to have it shut down just a couple days later over the complaints from some members here. In response to that backlash, there was a second one where other members who wanted a civility section left AF for another recently created atheist forum....and it wasn't just Theists who left. The AF staff are trying to get it all worked out, so hopefully, they can come up with something. Oh, so now we're putting words in my mouth? I didn't blame her for anything. If person A starts some drama, person B gets dragged into it and gets (understandably or otherwise) worked up about it, I would say that I can't call person B chill at the moment, and it would have absolutely nothing to do with blame. On anyone.
(That's not to say that CL was getting worked up about the recent drama. I honestly haven't been reading most posts closely enough to conclude anything like that. I was simply saying why tack is my fav theist on the forum at the moment, and wanted to also clarify that I think CL is pretty nice too.) You can always count on someone or the other dragging you into drama even when you're literally just complimenting someone else over something unrelated, lol.

Just check out the introductions thread there and see for yourself. It wasn't just Theists who left. Some of those members who are now posting on the other site aren't coming back. Others of us are waiting to see how the "kinks" get worked out here. +1
I'm out unless the staff bounces Shellb but I'm not holding my breath. Commenting about "culling the herd", Prime Directive violations, among a litany of other behaviors. It's unacceptable that staff/ admins support this type of behavior. I have nothing to lose by leaving, or if the whole site leaves and, absent evidence that shows otherwise, I can only conclude now that staff/ admins don't particularly care much about what happens to AF either.

*sigh*
The thing is, where there are people, there is drama and in-fighting. And, the bigger the community, the louder the war cries. IMHO, people taking off to another site is akin to someone moving across the country to get away from their problems. Problems inevitably follow. That’s just the nature of the beast. What are people going to do when the honeymoon phase is over at the new location; when someone gets angry over a staff decision, or a series of them; when the crowd grows large enough that in-fighting starts taking a serious toll on members? Where to then? I don’t mean to come across as judgmental of the folks leaving. Quite the contrary; I like these folks and this is an appeal to them to stay. Obviously, people should do what they feel is best for them, but I just wonder, in the grand scheme of things, if things will be truly be objectivity different anywhere else.

It's a fresh, new forum. People were going there anyway. Now, some people are acting like they were driven out with cattle prods. I'm happy there's another atheist forum out there. It was built with the best of intentions for folks from TTA, not as a result of in-fighting here, as some want to make it seem.

I can't see what all the drama is about? Worse things happen at sea.

Some people liked something. Other people didn't. A scapegoat must be found and run out of town with a pitchfork!
