I don't believe for a second he was ignorant of the abuse and if he was that's on him too .

Sure it is.  You can get unruly inmates and it impacts the officers.  Some taunt or maybe even go as far as to threaten.  It's not everybody, but it happens a lot.  Not surprising that someone would feel hostility.  It doesn't mean they are justified, but sometimes people aren't looking for justification.

I don't believe he's totally innocent, but I don't think it's fair to call him, or anybody else, a monster just because you don't like them. When people make mistakes, my hope is always that there is correction.  That includes myself.  If I legitimately flub up, hopefully I'll find a way to remedy the problem.
Actually it not prison being rough does not justify the actions of the guards and nope he is a monster because he either didn't care or didn't care to look into it. That isn't merely making a mistake that's an abuse in it's own right .

What did you expect him to do?  The accused person said it didn't happen and eventually resigned.  Maybe he was lying, maybe she was.  I'm not going to assume either.  All I can hope for is justice even if I don't know what it would look like in a given scenario.  If he did it, that makes the rapist the "monster."   It amazes me how I keep hearing about Clarke, but nobody mentioning the name of the man that supposedly did it.

Take some fucking responsibility for what was done on his watch  which as I said shows he was either apathetic or incurious of what his subordinates were doing which makes him a monster .

This is typical conservative Christian behavior, defending someone merely because they are on your team. They care more about loyalty than ethics, even if loyalty leads to terrible things. We see the same dynamic playing out in the White House and the departments under Trump. Being loyal is more important than doing good. And it's disgusting.

You're making an assumption that he wasn't.  Jails and prisons aren't necessarily going to be cozy places to be.  As it stands, most are overpopulated it's a mixed bag when it comes to the character of the inmates.  If an officer or guard does something without others knowing, then that is on them.  Maybe last out at that person instead.

1. He clearly didn't so that's not an assumption

2.We already established prison isn't nice that's not an excuse ]

LOL...not cozy? They're not supposed to be rape and torture barns, either.  If there's a pattern of behavior on the part of guards that's a problem their boss is made explicitly responsible for.

That's the job.

Stop.

Your opinion. Mine is different than yours.  Neither is better or worse.

If I ever become a super villain, you have my permission to throw me in a dungeon with rats, and feed me stale bread.  Maybe if I ever leave that dungeon, I'll cease being a villain because I had some time to ponder my decisions.  Give me cable TV and a playground, and I'll spend less time pondering, and more time playing basketball while catching up on episodes of Friends. Hehe

Right, and if someone rapes someone and we know it to be fact, then I say get out the scissors.  He wasn't the one who supposedly raped the woman, and there's no indication that he even knew about it until after it supposedly happened.  From what I've read so far, the woman reported it after the fact, but I'm not 100 percent on the timeline of everything from the few sources I've read.  What I do know is that the man who was accused resigned from his position.  The jail was sued since it supposedly happened under its roof.

That's simply not true

If you show apathy and incuriosity at blatant abuse committed by your subordinates then you deserve jail

Welp, judge and jury thought otherwise.  He didn't get jail.  So what does that tell you about your claims?
