Do ( D )s sell more guns than ( R )s?

RE: Do ( D )s sell more guns than ( R )s?
-and..again, without that perceived inability to buy, gun sales neither increase nor decrease..not that it matters.

The idea that d's cause an uptick -depends- on that assumed motivation. In the absence of it, then, there would be no change, unless something other than that perceived motivation is at play.

I used to work in gun sales. When pro- gun people see the ( D )s " getting into power" - they buy more guns and ammo.

Evidence? Ammo shortages - like the one that ended a year or so ago - only happen during periods where the ( D )s have the appearance of having a chance of passing anti- gun legislation. Just before, and during the Clinton administration - I watched guns and ammo getting sold at a frenzied pace. I would say this is the period where private ownership of military looking guns soared. They simply weren't that popular before the 1990' s.

So?

I guess if you' re against " flooding the market with guns" - the best thing you can do is a straight ticket vote - for the ( R )s.

Big Grin

While it is true that democrats are legally allowed to own guns, and also true you'll find more agreement with democrats in red states agreeing with republicans in red states on firearms, the industry and NRA profit lobby have paid far more money to republican politicians to push their agenda, than they give democratic politicians. To imply voting R would be the answer is absurd.

It still amounts to one industry and one lobby holding congress hostage. And yes, I do want to wipe that sarcastic smile emotocon off your post. I do not find the amount of firearm violence funny one bit.

Needlessly scaring the shit out of right wingers does work, but only for an agenda, and profit of one industry. It does not do a damned thing for public safety or reducing firearm injuries and deaths.

The fear marketing does work, but it is not funny nor anything Americans should be proud of.  An average of 100 of our fellow citizens die every day because of use of a firearm.

But you are the fear monger who keeps helping the NRA sell guns. Screechy little assholes like you are exactly what motivates people to buy more guns. OLB has made a very good point. I think that his suggestion to vote Republican was sort of tongue-in-cheek. But if we want to vote Democrat, and we don't want to encourage people to buy more guns, then we should probably turn the hysteria level down. For example, the Democrats probably pay far more attention to the NRA than the Republicans do. Look at any news article that mentions the NRA, and it is probably going to be an article that is slanted toward gun control. Libtards give the NRA more free publicity than anyone. Your hysteria sells guns, libtard. A quieter approach would perhaps be more effective.

I' ll give you that one - voting ( R ) may not get less guns sold - but voting ( D ) almost certainly will get more...

And for the record - I am not the NRA....

I'm pretty sure that nutters would find some other way to rationalize their cyclical impulse buying, personally.

BULLSHIT.

How is saying we have way too much firearm violence and death selling fear? It is a fact.

There is only ONE industry and one lobby's leadership selling fear.

The bullshit slippery slope sold by the NRA leadership that we are going to magically become a fascist state, is what sells guns, not those saying we need to reduce firearm violence.

I don't think so.

A high demand is caused by likely buyers seeing a potential future inability to buy.

When there is no threat - They don't buy - and the supply increases. This drives prices down - which SHOULD spur sales - but oddly enough, doesn't.

Illogical? Absolutely. But it is the observed trend.

Personally - I buy when prices are down, not up.

You have to take the publicity factor into account. Publicity is free advertising. When Dems are ascending, guns simply get a lot more publicity. A lot more publicity stimulates a lot more people considering gun purchases. Most gun owners need another gun about as much as they need a hole in their head. They have plenty, and they don't need more. So during times that guns aren't a hot topic, they aren't thinking about new gun purchases all that much. But when gun's are a hot topic, adding to the collection is almost irresistible. Everyone's talking about guns, and talking about guns is a lot more interesting when you have new guns to talk about.

In a world without dems, there would be a faction within the r's who breathlessly exaggerated all the criming crimers doing crimes (probably mexicans) and our burning need to go out and buy an arsenal RIGHT MEOW to defend ourselves against the rampaging hordes (definitely mexicans).  The effect would likely be the same.

The NRA thanks you for constantly mentioning the NRA. Without libtards, hardly anyone would know who they are. You make them famous.

...that's an impressive failure to understand what the NRA is, how they operate, or which political faction contributes to their continued existence......

They're rightwing kingmakers, the gun industry actually has a gun industry lobbying group, "libtards" don't even know their name, they're worse than the nra, and this obscurity helps them, rather than harms them.

They're called the NSSF, and while the NRA is busily propping up republican candidates in red states..they reach across the aisle to remove restrictions on selling guns to buyers in active warzones, lol. An issue so far beyond the pale that we're unlikely to find a gunhumper or a gunbanner that thinks it's a good idea, doesn't even imagine or consider that this is going on, and which no candidate from either side wants to be seen...publicly, supporting. They get a hell of alot more for their dollar, because they're better at everything than the NRA ever could be. To them, this entire issue is an irrelevant sideshow. They don't care who the next king is going to be, our domestic squabbles and laws aren't their most pressing concern..because they have and will continue to make sure that whomever is in power and whatever the laws may be they stand to profit from it.

The NRA hires dana fucking loesch, lol..these guys poach ivy league colleges and international lobbying firms for talent. Here, enjoy this slick shit and compare it with the nutjobs over at La Pierres Palace of Rightwing Paranoia.

"liberal" is not a slur, no matter how much you wish it were.

And no, I will not shut up. I have no obligation to keep quiet knowing an average of 100 of my fellow citizens die from firearm violence every day. If you find that acceptable, you are either delusional, or disturbed.
