So the self righteous douche bags in the uk have found the old gun's don't kill people, people kill people to be true obviously. Why? because they have taken the guns away ad now the self righteously smug, still can not stand each other so rather than shot they are stabbing each other to the point legislation is being put fourth to restrict the use and who can carry one... 

again knife gun pushed out of a window it all the same it is not the tool that is the problem, people are. It is clear that pop morality can not keep the population in check lke most of you 'good people' thinks it can. therefore you all foolishly think if you remove the tools people can't can not build or wreck what they set out to do? Shame on you for being that naive.

bad people will always exist despite how enlightened you feel you are because you in your mind don't need God. great. now what of the monsters in society who do need God to keep them in check? do you think banning knives will help you? what's next sticks? hammers screw drivers? will you have all windows nail shut above the second floor as well if people start pushing other out of windows?

IDK, seems like it might not actually be the "self righteously smug" stabbing people.  "God" has proven itself to be ineffective at preventing shootings or stabbings regardless.  

Doesn't seem to prevent smug self righteousness, either.

UK has some pretty strict regs on knives, but it's not a ban, and neither is this.  They're allowed to -own- the shit they can't carry in public, and if a person has a history of knife related offense and is using social media, right there in the public view, to escalate a gang rivalry....prolly a good idea to keep tabs on them.

As a resident of the uk I see the problem with knife crime as fundamentally different to gun crime, knives are useful for other things than killing such as getting into amazon parcels and cutting up food amongst other  things.
And yet we still have stringent sentences for people carrying knives and the sale of knives is strictly controlled which is mainly quite effective.

Guns on the other hand are pure killing machines and even the most prolific knifer has to get quite close to carry out their foul deed whereas, a gun arsehole can do it from a distance.
So even at its worst knife crime is less harmful than gun attacks and is harder to stop because knives be useful.

I think what Drich is doing here is trying to compare a recent problem in the uk, that is recognised as a problem, with people searching for practical solutions to a long term situation in the US which is far worse that people aren't combatting at all.


Look at how NZ treated its mass shooting for an effective way to deal with guns.

1.Knives aren't as effective as a gun for mass killing if they were armies would use them as a primary weapon 

2. Knives serve another purpose . Hell even combat knives are multi purpose , And no the fact you use a weapon SPECEFICALLY DESIGNED to kill people for purpose that's not killing means nothing .

You clearly didn't read the article to which you linked.  No one is calling for a 'knife ban' in the UK.  The legislation is intended to clamp down on the use of certain social media sites by gang members and by people with prior convictions for knife-related crime. In other words, it seeks to make it harder for violent CRIMINALS to carry knives. How can you sensibly object to this?

Also, please stop repeating the canard that 'they have taken the guns away'.  It's simply not true.

Why you think that' s some sort of law of physics is beyond me.

WTF difference does it make what something is designed for? When some person wields it as a weapon - if IS a weapon.

The average Joe can kill more people with a big 4 wd truck - than they could with an AK47.


Look at the numbers killed. Bombs, planes and vehicles score higher than guns.

Do you have any figures on how many of the deaths caused by planes and vehicles are deliberate?

I get so mortally tired of the nonsense that 'Guns are just tools.'  When I visit gun-nut sites, they're all posing with guns.  No one seems to be dressed  in camouflage holding a drill or a cross cut saw.
