Some of my ancestors were Bamileke who originated in Egypt and migrated to Cameroon between 1100-1300 so yes, perhaps.
But some were from Dahomey (now present day Benin) and they practiced a spirituality they pre-dates the Abrahmic faith; Vodun and related religions...which were also native spiritual practices in Congo, Cameroon, and Nigeria.

Before West Africa was colonized and fell prey the slave trade, most of my ancestors probably prayed to some iteration of Bondye and/or associated loa.
Some of them undoubtedly prayed to Allah as well, as some of the ethic groups of the Ivory Coast/Ghana migrated to the region from Sudan.

There are isolated tribes in Africa which do observe traditional Hebrew practices, true enough. But Africa's a big continent and Egypt isn't the only country there.
Christianity was not the primary religion of most Africans before European colonizers brought it there.

Heh heh...if I were ever be of the mind to give religion another go, traditional African spirituality is what I'd be inclined to look into. Vodun is the only one that gets my Spidey senses tingling in the slightest. And that ain't much. It's more of fascination/interest than anything else.

The Hebrews ARE African, they originated in Egypt.

EVERYBODY originated in Africa.  Coffee
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

Yes, Egypt is in Africa.

However, ancient Egypt consisted of people who possessed a homogeneous African phenotype and those who were admixed with Persian, Arabic, etc. to varying degrees, just as it does today. That gradient was undoubtedly reflected in the appearance of original Hebrews. They were probably black to lightest tan and everything in between, as Egypt is an amalgamation of Africa and the surrounding regions.

I am, Huggy.
I'm noting that they're not covered too heavily among the regions where most of the Africans were stolen from during the TST.

I don't know about yours, but ancestral worship, divination, and/or animist-oriented religions were the primary spiritual practice of most of my African ancestors prior to imperialism. As I've mentioned, most of them were from the regions of Cameroon, Benin/Togo, and Ghana where colonizers went to great lengths to suppress Vodou and other spiritual beliefs.

I get being annoyed at the nerve of smarmy atheists (some of whom are notably racist) telling you that you shouldn't believe in Christianity because...racism. That shit's laughable and deserves nothing but the middle finger, IMO.

But you're embellishing quite a bit if you're implying that European colonists and slavers found most every African they came across to be already Christian. Or Hebrew.
That's not true.

*emphasis mine*

In the 28th chapter of Deuteronomy, God tells the Hebrews of the curses that would befall them for disobedience, and included in that list was the return to slavery in ships, and interestingly enough this one:

The Lord shall bring thee, and thy king which thou shalt set over thee, unto a nation which neither thou nor thy fathers have known; and there shalt thou serve other gods, wood and stone. And thou shalt become an astonishment, a proverb, and a byword, among all nations whither the Lord shall lead thee. Deuteronomy 28:36-37

Okay...I wasn't sure if you were a Hebrew Israelite or not.
But now I'm fairly certain you are.

True?
Do you believe black Africans were to blame for their own enslavement for turning away from the righteousness of the Most High?

Asking for a friend. Tongue
