The sobriety of accepting one's finite existence is harsh, but does not have to be viewed as fatalistic or pessimistic. It does not demean our existence to say in the scale of 13.8 billion years, we don't matter. We matter now, while we are alive. Just like one does not fear their non existence 4 billion years ago. I do fear my species squandering our good side in our potential for compassion and empathy fighting each other in a futile effort to gain immortality which is fiction.

Well... it takes a little more than a 30 second search and 2 minutes to understand physics. It's not the bible ya know.

Drich thinks the bible should impress everyone.   Since that is what no less reputable an ultimate judge of truth and light than Drich thinks, Drich believe it must be reality.   When Drich finds there are people who not only do not buy the bible, but more heinously do not buy Drich, Drich decided he must show that because Drich is Drich, What Drich says is truth and those people must be made to be impressed with Drich's truths,  especially when Drich thinks once other people have been made duly impressed by drich, they will also be duly impressed by bible because that's what Drich thinks they should be impressed by.

Hence Drich decided he will conjure a perpetual motion machine into existence using his "Imperial Evidence", without actually knowing what a perpetual motion machine really is, in order to demonstrate just how impressive he is.   But since Drich is Drich and he is never wrong, he doesn't need to know what a perpetual motion machine is.   It is what he says it is.
