I got scolded for "abusing" a [serious] thread.
Looking at the new posts the last few days, you pretty much can't post anything anywhere as everything is labeled "serious".

That the group of homeomorphisms of a locally compact Hausdorff space under the compact open topology does not have to be a topological group.
