I believe the journalists have blown the case out of proportion and context what the Pope said, but the pope is just a man, leader of the church, but not mine, I still can make my own toughts. I think the Pope was making an appeal to monogamy and celibacy, since that is the thing that's helping AIDS to spread more.. But I don't share the same opinion as the pope about the use of condom.
I think its a shame to the church, they should never have covered it up and lied, but what some religious men do, has little bearing on the merits of his religions.

But, it has an affect on whether you can trust them and whether they should hold a position of authority.

Welcome. I'm also an ex-Catholic, so I think there's hope for you!

Ah, but you're forgetting about papal infallibility, where the pope is supposed to be always right on matters of the church, no questions asked.
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.

I believe that has not been easy for the Pope have hidden .. ashamed before the pedophile priests, should never have hidden .. what causes people to lose confidence in religion .. however .. religion is not to blame .. the man is not perfect ..
In my opinion, I do not see why not let the priests have a wife and have children .. as the nuns .. anyway it is a sacrifice when they choose to be priests or nuns.

Hello SecretSmile and welcome....you are brave to come here with your beliefs.
You say you believe in the Bible. Do you believe in the following?
god
creation
virgin birth
miracles
dying and then coming alive again
A man is born to a virgin mother, lives, dies, comes alive again and then disappears into the clouds to become his Dad. How likely is that?
