For the nerds out there, how long does it take a video feed to get from Mars to earth?

WOW! That is f-ing fast. I was just watching the news and they were saying Mars has a 40 minute longer day than earth. I find it amazing that they have to work out all that math to time everything down to the second to land that thing. They were reporting too, that the mission will have it land in an ancient riverbed in an attempt to try to find signs of prior life.

It's a lake bed with a river coming into and another leaving it. They will look for signs of life around the lakebed and in the river beds. Samples will be taken and saved for another lander from ESA to collect and return to Earth.

That would be the first time a human made vehicle left Mars to come back. Certainly based on the moon landing principles/without humans of course. But gonna take a hell of a lot more power and fuel to break the gravity of Mars. I am simply always amazed at how science figures out how to do these things.
