A hate boner?
Is that something you have ran into a lot?
First I have heard of one.

In case you haven' t noticed (which comes as no surprise) - I'm not terribly fond of Republicans either
Come to think of it - I'm not very fond of ANY groups of criminals......
Name me one point in human history where a nation survived on no government, friend or foe. I'll wait.
Power will always arise, there is no such thing as a utopia. And sorry, while America is a bad place right now, not all politicians are criminals. The sausage making in a democratic republic is ugly sometimes, but it is far better than living in a theocracy like Iran, or a dictatorship like North Korea.

Has it ever occurred to you that a government can function very nicely WITHOUT political parties?
In fact - I am willing to bet it would do better without than with.

Unlikely. Particularly so in a representative government where a broad amount of positions on a complex field of issues need to be distilled into a marketable product in order to achieve the post. Whether that's winning votes, idealistically... or persuading donors, cynically.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

( R ) over-reacts to a valid election. OLB says ( D ) is to blame. That's a very ( R ) thing to do.

How are we to blame for getting out more voters? Silly me, how dare I think that is how elections work.

The best and cleanest form of government is a benevolent dictator. The caveat with that type of government is that it is wishful thinking. Hoping for one to arise and take over the governance of our country is foolhardy! Once a person is in power they invariably need checks and balances to assure that they work for the good of the nation and not just whatever whim guides their actions.
On another note I don't know why people find it so hard to read OLB's posts and come to the conclusion that he genuinely dislikes both parties. The OP here is simply a statement of fact but people get all wacky and start spinning bullshit out of straw!
Oh well, it looks that way to me on most of the posts here where people bring up old grievances instead of addressing the OP. I've done it too so I'm certainly not innocent.

You can detest a party even as you agree with it's most detestable politics. People think he's a rwnj because he's put in many hard hours convincing them.

Thank you.
As I see it - the party loyalists are offended by reality.
They WANT there to be less guns (and theoretical less gun crime) - but history shows that a Democratic win (Or even the prospect of) in the Presidential election causes a wave of gun buying. (By Democrats as well... It's foolish to say it is just ( R )s).
So their actions ( voting ( D ) )has an effect they don' t like - increased gun sales....
And yes. It amuses me.
