moslim, having 100 or 1000 or 1,000,000 descriptive adjectives to describe your god doesn't in any way provide evidence for his existence. A person can stand there and tell me 100 different complimenting words for air .. "it's good, it's clean, its refreshing, it's vital, it's purifying"..and so on, but if I didn't know there was solid scientific repeatable tests that I could do to show that air existed then all the fancy descriptive words in the universe wouldn't convince me otherwise.

My actual understanding and logic told me Muhammad is full of shit.

That will never hold up in court...

Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

Bah. I do believe in god, just not your god, and therein lies the rub. Why do we believe or not believe in (a) god? It has more to do with what Heiddegger termed "thrownness" — we are born into a stream of causality which, neither atheist nor theist has control. That's simply the way the cosmic dice were thrown. ![]() |
