For what?
I think in any given sport, most announcers or "Play by players" are fucking boring. I get announcing the stats and explaining the strategy, but that gets boring. I still want the game to be real, and I don't want it to be like the WWE or "fuck wrestling". But when I watch any sport I love a little banter about how well or bad a team is doing. I don't want sports to be like fake "pro wrestling", because that is just that, FUCKING FAKE. But there is nothing wrong with a real sport when the announcers have fun with the game. I am not a golf fan in the slightest, but does anyone remember the recent butterfly chasing the put to the hole? That is how all sports should be. RE: The first time you heard "Third and a mile"?

The longest 3rd down ever faced was by Louisiana Tech against Mississippi State in 2017. Third and goal from their own 7, 93 yards to go. They had a really bad 2nd down.
Third and 93 is 1667 yards less than a mile. (September 10, 2021 at 11:27 pm)Ranjr Wrote: The longest 3rd down ever faced was by Louisiana Tech against Mississippi State in 2017. Third and goal from their own 7, 93 yards to go. They had a really bad 2nd down. I get it. In today's game a "mile" is nothing. But back then, like I said in a prior post, the standard ilk of play calling was run on first and second, to set your offense up for play option, as in 3rd and short. But today's game is mostly passing. I actually am shocked at the risk taking that goes on today, even early in a game on 4th down, which if you don't have the yardage, old school would make you punt. The game has changed. I won't argue that it does not take talent, every sport does. But, I would watch pro golf if they added paintball to it. The rule would be your rivals could pelt you with paint balls in the back of your legs and back, but only on the putt. I figure if you can still make the put being hit by paintballs, you deserve she score.
This is the weirdest thread...
Why is it so?
