I don't have a Twitter account and don't follow anyone on it. Doesn't appeal to me.

The only reason I joined Facebook was to keep up with my grandkids in SC. Now I'm just there for the memes. I finally signed up on Instagram but that's because my oldest granddaughter posts pictures there and not on Facebook, which is no longer cool.

It is funny, but my local cable company is famous for having outages, mostly brief, but just about every month, or every other month. Proof that just because you run or own a big company, you are not immune to disruptions.

I cannot tell you how many times since 07 since I have lived in this location, where I am at now, that my cable and internet suddenly craps out, and then I call in wondering if I paid my bill on time.

See, there's the difference.  You are comparing local service provides with a worldwide one.

Monopolies are not a good thing and this is one example. My county cable company is also a monopoly, it is just smaller. But the model mindset big or small is the same.

The only difference between an outage or shortage between big and small companies is size, but the outcome in disruption of services is the same. Anti monopoly laws which we have gotten away from, has allowed for the chase for the buck over quality.

Just for future reference, if you can’t access one site but can access others, it’s extremely unlikely the problem is at your end.

I take it back. You've probably been hacked...someone, somewhere wants to get their hands on your poetry and your wonderfully rambling insights.

I know. But when you are dealing in reality with nothing but positive and negative charges, and "0"s and "1"s and machine language, there are an infinite number of things that can go wrong or be misinterpreted on the internet.

Think about it, it wasn't on my end, and I am a small fry, but right now Mark and his brass under him have to be shitting their pants.

Yet, you are the one who got all panicked.

*spit take*  Hehe

I don't have any social media. I used to, just FB though. But I'm paranoid, so, I didn't have any friends other than people I actually know and see on a semi-frequent basis. But when I came out and went atheist, I had less and less in common with my family and friends. Nobody would comment or like any of the stuff I posted, and I curated my feed so any family that liked to play frequent games or post religious crap didn't show up in my news feed anymore. It became a boring place where I was just talking to myself. Worse yet, I suspect that the stuff I posted became fodder to be used by busybody family who wanted to talk about me amongst each other. But you can't unfriend anyone without setting off a firestorm of drama. So, I just deleted it, about a year or two ago.
