For awkward social situations, pretend you're watching the humiliation of your enemies, instead of being dragged, unwillingly, into something that's beyond your control, where you'll feel unwanted and unloved, would rather curl up in your own bubble than be participating in, and will give you nightmares for the rest of your life.
