RE: Yet Another GOP Dumpster Fire Of A Human Being
GOP Rep. Paul Gosar spread a baseless transphobic rumor that the Uvalde school shooting suspect was a 'transsexual leftist illegal alien'

Rep. Paul Gosar has been repeating misinformation about the suspect in the Texas school shooting.

Gosar tweeted that the shooter was a "transsexual leftist illegal alien."

The false claim has spread based on the photos of a person who is unrelated to the attack.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

I guess you are trying to say that there are bad apples on both sides, but still, Democrats don't think the scariest thing that could happen at a school is a child learning that gay people exist as Republicans even now think.

How many of the people on that list tried using a school shooting to demonize Trans people and Immigrants?

Yeah, it's hard to make a claim how the both parties are equal when stuff like this occur when more than a year ago 96% of House republicans voted against keeping guns out of the hands of dangerous individuals.

Republicans no longer care about anything but clinging to power.

Ordinary Americans? Nope. Rank and file? Nope. Their rabid base? Nope. Getting elected is the only thing that matters no matter who gets fucked in the process.

Every politician has constituents.  The constituency could be a fickle mob with some superficial commonality of interest that in theory can turn out a lot of votes, or a calculating group of consistent interests with resources and cunning to assemble enough votes from what appears to be disparate constituencies to rule.

The reason why republicans don’t look like they care about anything but clinging to power is the interest of constituency they really care is not served by revealing or admitting itself to be a consistency, nor to be tarred by their own real interests which would otherwise be made clear.

If it is a class struggle where number of votes still carry some weight, it is tactically wise for the privileged to not admit to be, or too clearly reveal itself to the dim witted to being, a cohesive constituency acting against the interests of the majority.

Those are the people who think a million lesser women dying of delegitimized abortion, a million people from the lesser classes dying of Covid or a shooting every other day in schools for those unable to afford private education is an infinitesimal prices to pay, beneath even the notice of contempt, to secure a coalition to safeguard their own infinitely more important interests, because the mob is so distracted by vacuous slogans born of ideologies conceived to deceive.

I've come up with the perfect solution to the fact that the US doesn't have effective gun legislation. Every time there's a mass shooting an equal number of republitraitor politicians (including Sinema and Manchin) are selected by lot, brought to the site of the shooting and executed by firing squad. It'll take two incidents, max, before the country gets laws so tight you're not going to squeak a rizla through them.
