I can think of a few reasons. What if you're burdened by your previous-lives' memories? After a while, wouldn't you get bored with eternal life, or eternal reincarnations in that case?

And if you get a free memory-wipe at the beginning of each new life, how would you know you're reincarnated at all?

I don't think you've really given this much thought, and are probably just trying to push buttons.
