It was a bit wet today. I didn't bring an umbrella or wear a hat.

Got a two day reprieve from storms, just long enough to let the grass dry enough to be cut.
I know, old fart problems.

Main floor a/c is on the fritz.
Pool is out of order. First world problems.in the third world. (April 30, 2024 at 12:51 am)Jackalope Wrote: Main floor a/c is on the fritz. I feel ya. We had to choose between replacing the HVAC or finding the leak/fixing the pool. HVAC got fixed to the tune of a lot of $$$$. Pool must wait. Pool pump was supposed to be fixed yesterday but another part was needed. Fortunately it wasn't nearly as much $ as it could have been. To add insult to injury, the breaker box on our house was so old and out of code that it had to be replaced along with the HVAC. Fix was to the tune of 20K. Pool has to wait a bit. Not surprising, though. My wife's parents had refrigeration AC installed many years ago, after her family suffered with a swamp cooler for decades. The AC people installed a new drop and ran the power to the rest of the house from there...a 50 amp feed. There was a 40 amp panel that had a 70 amp panel that it fed. Completely unsafe and unlawful. When we rented that house, the renters complained that the 40 amp electrical panel was hot and that the breaker for the microwave kept shutting off. Crazy. We had a 100 amp panel installed, and a separate circuit for the microwave. I'd've felt pretty badly if the renters had been killed in a fire, that's how badly that wiring was done. We "only" dropped about $7k on the repairs.

I found out when a buyers inspection came back when I sold it after living in it for three years. O.o Not gonna lie, mom was a cheapskate landlord.
Clear sky all around, but it just feels like the weather outside should be stormy. This feeling does not bode well for how my day might turn out at work later.

Part cloudy, mild breeze. Things will change later on.
