Veganism

RE: Veganism
Agriculture kills animals, directly and through loss of habitat. It's a feature of our world that everything that lives must kill to do so.

I think people should act in accordance with their conscience as much as is practical. I'm not vegan but I do try to eliminate most animal-sourced products. My reasons and choices are personal, probably irrational, and definitely hipocritical in cases.

What are your thoughts on the matter, dear reader?

I'm a vague-an, I'm never sure what I want to eat.

I was vegan for a few years when I was younger.

Raoul Wallenberg was morally virtuous. Vegans merely make different dietary choice. One that I wouldn't but to each his own.

While veganism is a dietary choice, there are plenty of people who make that choice for morally virtuous reasons. Saving the planet, shit like that.

I could claim that I don't drive a car for morally virtuous reasons, like saving a planet but the truth is that I simply don't have drivers licence thanks to bad eyesight. Similarly some vegans might think that they're doing something moral when in fact they're just looking for their own health.

I'm against ascribing moral values to things like dietary preferences or not driving car. Otherwise thousands of people end to be "morally virtuous" and yet millions still starve in this ocean of goodness.

If someone make a choice for moral reasons, it is a moral choice. This seems so obvious that I actually feel it shouldn't need to be pointed out.

Who the hell are you to tell someone else whether their choices are based on moral values or not?

If.

Who the hell are you to tell me anything? You might think that not eating meat is moral but I'm just getting a nice laugh out of it.
