Summerqueen, these professions involve *ugh* sex and as such are sinful. You see, ALL SEX is sinful. Yes, all of it. Married, unmarried, committed, casual, gay, straight or just by yourself. The Bible tells us that sex is a wicked thing and we should all be celibate.

Quote:1Cor 7:1-9
Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman. Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband. Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband. The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife. Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency. But I speak this by permission, and not of commandment. For I would that all men were even as I myself. But every man hath his proper gift of God, one after this manner, and another after that. I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, It is good for them if they abide even as I. But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn
.

So by the light of scripture we see that all sex is sinful but some is more sinful than others. Getting married and having sex only within marriage is the least sinful option.

Prostitution (or having sex with those who have similar body parts) is the most sinful option. Being a stripper is also just as sinful because Jesus tells us that even looking at a woman in lust is to commit adultery.

Quote:Please, we both know there are lawyers who do a heap of good in this world.

There may be some who get lucky and win a case in which a real scumbag goes to jail. The problem with them is their very next case might involve defending a pedolphile priest which they will do with equal vigor.

As an example:

Quote:The devil visited a lawyer's office and made him an offer. "I can arrange some things for you, " the devil said. "I'll increase your income five-fold. Your partners will love you; your clients will respect you; you'll have four months of vacation each year and live to be a hundred. All I require in return is that your wife's soul, your children's souls, and their children's souls rot in hell for eternity."

The lawyer thought for a moment. "What's the catch?" he asked.

Well, I would rather imagine my loved ones gaining from dirty old men without having to actually touch them.

You're soooo defensive. Practically transparent. I am not the one concerned with societal class. From your previous statements on this matter, you are. I could give a shit less what your stuck up ass thinks about me. You're not holding up a mirror, sweet heart. Your shield is cheap/clear plastic.

Quote:Were you suffering delusions that prostitution and stripping is somehow better than being in a meaningful relationship?

What the fuck are you even talking about? I really don't have a clue. I'm in a meaningful relationship right now, I've been a stripper. I think being in a meaningful relationship is better than being in an abusive relationship. I think being a stripper is better than being a chef, for me, because you can't make 8 grand in 3 nights by being a chef.

Quote:Seriously, I don't see how painting it for what it is can be seen as wrong. I'm not against it. I'm all for it. I've actually defended you from people insulting you for your profession. I banned a guy for tearing into you about your kids and what you do. Does it bother you that I'm not a skank? Sorry.

No, it bothers me that you would call people you don't know "skanks". I think you think you're better than every prostitute and stripper because you don't want to be a prostitute or stripper. I think you're a typical woman. I don't have many female friends in real life because they're so insecure and negative all the time. Like you.

Quote:Don't kid yourself, sweetheart. I have no need to deflect your insults. You take logic and lack of emotional attachment to your hundred and one "Don't you dare fucking judge me" topics as deflection. That's fine. Sorry I don't get as riled up as you.

But you did, and you still are. It's painful to watch almost, because the more you go on, the more it comes out. Stop. You think you're being funny and cute, but this isn't making sense. What the fuck is "your hundred and one"? I don't give a shit if you or anyone else judges me, I've said that before. I meant it. Next time I deflect something, you let me know.

Quote:ROFLOL For a self-proclaimed psychiatrist, you have very little insight.

I've never ever ever claimed to be a psychiatrist. I'm a licensed counselor. Psychiatrist, not yet. Maybe someday.

Quote:"Ice Princess." Classic.

Heard that one a lot, eh? I figured.
