The price of attonement???

RE: The price of attonement???
You guys both have hardened fucking hearts.
Pick two opposing verses where God is painted in a bad light in one and another where God supposedly says man lied, and each of you fuckers will pick the worst as the "truth" and one of you has the fucking nerve to call it righteous. Undecided

Any measure of improvement or decency would correlate directly and inversely to his distance from the faith he espouses at any given moment. Precisely the situation you describe, couched in other terms.

How's about it Drich. Do you say less disgusting things when I'm not around?

I will say I am completly genuine and 99.999% (+/- .001% margin of error) consistant with what I say do and think here on line. Whether you judge that good or bad is really no concern of mine.

God says He hides Himself from 'certain people,' and that He allows their Hearts to grow hard and cold to Him. You do not know God, and you do not see his love. That must mean I have mis-identified your unique snow flake disposition and lumped you with every other living soul on the planet that has ever shared these symptoms, and God's own diagnosis.. But you, (like you claim) must somehow be different, and my difering to God's diagnosis is in error... Because you only have ever experience 3 of the 4 types of the broader understanding of the word love the greeks had. Must mean for you there is no greater understanding of anything that you have not experienced for yourself. Which by that logic should allow you to fly around like superman if you did not acknoweledge graveity

There isn't going to become a point where your ghost stories become an authority on my heart, or the nature of the human heart Drich. You do realize that, don't you? Everytime you fall back on it that reinforces what I said about how uncomfortable you are confronted with my heart, my nature. If your fairy tales say one thing about the contents of my experience - and I say another......guess who the authority is between the two?

You aren't offering the diagnosis of any god. You are offering your own. There may be greater understandings, but you've failed to establish that what you've offered is such an understanding.

Incompetence.

Drich, it's not about how genuine you are or not. The off and on switch happens despite a person being genuine about their beliefs. Do you honestly never go through phases where you see people without lenses of your religion?

The changing of testaments is not the issue. You are making it so because you do not want to tackle the fact that god's character does change, thus making your assertion that he is unchangeable utterly false.

Two problems with that.
1. Man wrote the OT so we have man's view of what God is like. We then have a later man writing that God spoke to him and said the earlier men lied.
2. The name as originally revealed to Moses was : אֶהְיֶה = I am that I am (OR) I shall become who I am becoming. That hardly sounds like an unchanging God, eh?
.

Oh yeah, the price of attonement is $4.99 usd, send donations to atheistforums.org or Westboro Baptist, your choice...

You're gonna tell me about my heart next? Do you even lift, bro?

"God" doesn't lie, "god" doesn't exist to lie. It doesn't matter what light god is painted in, because that's all god is - a painting-. This should be pretty obvious, but seeing as how I find the very notion of "god" to be an absurdity whenever I offer my opinion of some verse...I'm not criticizing any god - I'm criticizing the position of the person offering that verse explicit or tacit approval. I don't care about Drichs, (or your) fucking gods.....I don't like having someone try to shit in my earhole - or rub it in my eye and then tell me it's love, and how I just can't see love - blah blah blah blah.

The verse (or more accurately verses) in question in this case happen to be some horseshit about human sacrifice and the laying of ones burdens on another. How my objection to this qualifies my heart as hardened is a mystery to me. You could always explain that though - since Drich seems to be incapable.

There are different kinds of good. Many people have a civil good that we respect because we see the benefit to themselves and others. Some forms of good are meritorious while others are not. True good comes from love of the Lord and love of neighbor as self. Good that is only civil is motivated by self interest, reputation, and mutual gain which are not spiritual motives. From my experience, believers in real life tend to give people they do not know intimately the benefit of the doubt with regards to their motives.

You're drawing lines in thin air Chad. That's my opinion.
