Well, thanks for your replies everyone! You've each made me realize a little more, another piece to a big fat puzzle. Anyway, you all have compelling evidence, I will admit. And I believe I have gotten what I wished for when I posted this thread. By all means, don't stop the convo! This is obviously an emotional subject for most of you, and there is a lot of anger flowing in this thread, and I sense that a lot of you would refuse to believe any evidence I present! But now I must look into this evidence you have all so graciously provided. And I'll try to bring back some good evidence to present back into this thread or maybe another. In any case, I know I'm not going to win the debate against 20 of you. It's a little one sided here, if you know what I mean. But what should I expect, talking about this subject in an atheist forum? Hah! But please, if I may make one request, don't assume that any of you know anything of me. I know I don't have the answers to the vast majority of the unanswered questions out there, but my lack of answers does not mean that the answers aren't there. You do not know what has brought me to where I am, neither do any of you know what sort of pain I have had to endure! I know I am not the only one whos had a shit life, but please don't assume that I view myself as high and mighty, because I don't. But nonetheless, onward with the search for proof!

Explain all the natural disasters. You mean to tell me not one of the people who died loved and served God with all their strength? I said it before, I grew up as Christian as Christian can get and still your god did not protect me from traumatic events that still keep me up from sleep many nights. No amount of prayer helped. No amount of faith helped (at least a little) with my aunt's pain when she was agonizing for months because her kidneys sucked. No amount of faith helped any of the kids that I work with from what they go through every day. It would take you one day in their shoes to question your faith. One day! One fucken day. Don't tell me that Psalms what's it's name says wisherwasher because that doesn't prove anything. I see what I see and it's bullshit. I don't need to prove that God exists but doesn't care. You need to prove he exists, but hates us all... or is blind... or retarded.

I have a couple of questions if you don't mind, how was it you became a Christian and then why did you reject God?

Like most Christians I know... I was brainwashed. My parents took me to church Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. I "accepted God in my heart" when I was ten after hearing a sermon that got to me. I prayed every day for long periods of time (sigh), read the Bible all the time, even preached in church (and other churches).

I rejected faith after reading the Bible completely as an adult while doing a lot of thinking. I read... I thought. I read... thought some more. Then I knew. Or... stopped thinking I knew. Whichever makes more sense.
