Try God...

The basis of the Christian message is that we are filthy sinners unworthy of God's forgiveness. Not blaming yourself is being prideful, which is a sin.

Quote:Anything negative is rooted in ourselves, or humans...NOT GOD!

Yeah, not that crazed, bloodthirsty god who killed millions and ordered the deaths of countless innocents and allows millions of people to suffer and die to this day.

Quote:AA is about support. You either want it, and do it...or...you don't!

Which is precisely why a good Christian blames herself. AA is flawless, if it didn't work, it has to be her fault.

The message of Christ is "submit to me or suffer for all eternity". About as evil and wicked a message as one could ever invent.

Wrong! Message is of love and forgivness. But you have to want that!

He's a lot like us...huh?

...do you just make this stuff up as you go along? You look at AA as you do religion: this monster that grows unabated.... when in actuality its "people helping people". Fellowship and support doesn't work if you don't want it. There are plenty of "sober people" willing to help by coming to your home if you'd like! aka: NO SHORTAGE OF HELP!

Wrong again! No wonder why you hate Christianity! You are a treasure-trove of mis-information and distrust. A vicious circle that feeds itself.

I suggest one holy eucharist and call me in the morning!Cool Shades

What quote from the gospel of Jesus is that sentence in?

the gospel of jesus isnt even written by jesus first of all, second of all it is throughout your entire bible it is a theme, we're not talking about someone literally saying that...religious people are so weird sometimes they are all "it means what it says" then they are all "its metaphorical" make up your mind.

a baby that is born into this world is forgiven? for what? why does your god think that we owe something to him and it's a him right? because men are greater than women? where do you think that idea comes from? you don't understand what you are supporting...

That is how it is presented, and how gullible and stupid people accept it. If love and forgiveness were really the point, there wouldn't be promises and threats.

Yes, very much like us. That's kind of the point.

No, I don't look at AA as if it was a 'monster', just that it is not effective, and part of the reason why is because a fundamental of the program is that it relies on belief in a fictional being.

I suppose it's more accurately "Do what I want and get rewarded, don't do what I want and pay the ultimate price". The Christian message appeals to human selfishness and fear of death in order to control their behavior and their lives (and, of course, make a profit).

I know what k2490 said, I'm fully aware. I was offering to help no more no less, it's not just a Christian thing to do it's something responsible caring people do. You have no idea of what I would have said in trying to help, none at all. You are imagining things I would say out of your biased opinion of me. Actually I wish k2490 would reply if she/he can. I would also like to know k2490's gender, it feels odd referring to someone by a number.
You think too kindly of me. I said what I have said based on what you have said thus far. Yes, offering to tell someone about god at this moment, when the person has expressed they already feel pressured by this sort of things, to me, is inconsiderate. And then I went on to say that you're pretending you can help, i said that based on what you said a person with delusions of god should be told, because you placed your personal beliefs above someone else's welfare. And then you did say you're trying to help, so that's why i said what i said in the post you quoted.

You, however, are imagining things that i have not expressed or said.

THEN,I got a phone call from a friend while I was in the hospitals she was basically saying god is real because all the time I would have died but didn't.(suicide)Then I went into how I feel about everyone has a purpose and we are connected in a way.

The she said "What you said is exactly what the bible says" and I was like many religions have a common morale and she was like "No"

she also says that no religion can be proven you have to go by faith.

she also mentioned having a relationship god

It may not be to a high degree but I'm feeling a lot of pressure to convert and it annoying

From your conversation with this person it would seem that SHE is the one that should be hospitalised.

Did you ask her just WHY this so called loving deity inflicted you in the first place?

Who could write that stuff? The quotes are Jesus' words.

It seems your bias, distrust and hate for Christians just blinds you to the real deal. You have no openness to any concept that Christianity can have good aspects to it.

Just read your last paragraph! It doesn't make any sense. It's rubbish.

God doesn't "make" us do anything! he gave us "life" and "free will" to either love Him or NOT! You choose NOT! I chose to Love Him.

Some things are self-evident. Some are not so much. I chose to reach out and find out for myself about God. NO PERSON TOLD ME! Nor a book, or otherwise!

God revealed to me His love and wisdom through many ways, people and events.... Once I asked!

But you, like MANY don't want answers...because you have all the answers. At least in your own (made-up) minds you do!

All I can say is, you are missing out. Not only in God's Love, but the joy of being at Peace, and harmony with life in general.

Sure we Christians have problems getting the message across. And we have our share of nuts that make us look bad. The majority are trying to do the right thing. And be good role models.

But, you won't let us! You would see the whole community die for the transgressions of the few. That is wrong! Without Christians in the world there would be a lot less charity. There are no others that give and help more than Christians!

"absolutely nothing but my own thoughts"...sure bub!

Stalin was an atheist. Fine role models for our causes, huh.

ALERT! People can say one thing and ...eh... do something else altogether different. And a lot of atheists were Christians! Maybe Hitler saw the light and moved to your side before going totally bonkers? We'll never know...or will we?!

I'll quit making you dizzy now.
