Incredibly, they managed to lose to the Browns -- at home! Jaguars unfortunately are not on the schedule.

Their only win so far was against Pittsburgh, hardly a cause for gloating.

What can I say? I've been a fan since the early '70s, and disappointment is my annual lot. The fuckers will finally win a Super Bowl the year after I'm worm food.

Seeing how the NFC North is pretty much up for grabs, the Lions could even make the playoffs.

I wouldn't advise betting on it, though.Thinking

The Lions are a strange team. There have been several seasons in the past 10-20 years when it seemed they were on the verge of good things that never panned out. I feel bad for their fans in ways I would never dream of feeling for Bears and Packers fans -- those spawns of Satan.

Yes, fuck the Bears and the Packers. Smile

You think the Lions are strange? What about Lions fans like me? I feel like I'm an abused spouse that keeps getting fleeting hopes that my lover is going to quit beating me, but I always end up with a black eye.

This is where I really want to say "Go fix me a sandwich", but that would be in incredibly bad taste.

So I won't.

One decent season and you get all cocky. Angry

Next time you feel the need to boss me around, remind yourself how many Super Bowl rings you have.

You're a closet Christian aren't you? They worship a God that beats the hell out of them and they still kiss his ass.

If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!

Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.

Dead wrong.  The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.

Quote:Some people deserve hell.

I say again:  No exceptions.  Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it.  As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.
