Hey there, I'm a Theist from Louisiana!

More technically I'm a Deist, but I prefer Theist because of I emphasize that God has a personality. Some of you already know me at The Thinking Atheist, but I cam here after I was banned for something I didn't do to talk about Theism and Atheism friendly-ly.

Yeah, IMHO my beliefs are difficult to pinhole most of the time.

As for the banning issue it was a miss-communication between me and the admins about my asking for a sockpuppet but they thought I had sockpuppets. Then they pulled some kind of BS about IP addresses. Whatever, new forum new start. Angel

It became transparent very early on...it helped when I outed myself, of course. It even inspired a thread about how some socks are better than others.

What about you? Do you swing mainly for the A-team being nearly a Deist, or do you veer towards the supernatural a bit more?

The funny thing is I'm a complete advocate of Deism except when it comes to God's involvement. I believe I can (and have) experienced Him through meditation. Yes I'm a hippy-ass liberal don't rub it in.

Given that you feel God has a personality and is 'involved' with the material world, I'm not sure you can label yourself as a Deist at all.

Sort of like someone saying, 'I'm 100% vegetarian, except for beef. And pork. And lamb.....'
