It was an example of doubting the author. In Genesis 1-3, God states Time (Beginning), Space (Heavens), Matter (Earth) and Energy (Light). He then speaks of the formless void and waters of the deep (Hydrogen in a high state of order and low entropy).

He then gives us the metaphor of man in an image and the image of, both male and female (Genesis 1:27). In John 1, He then pulls the veil even further and identifies the hologram of word and light.
