What is your solution? If you keep killing good guys you will make more bad guys. Not an easy problem to solve.

The solution is pretty simple.

1.) We stop killing their civilians who have nothing to do with this imaginary war on a concept.

2.) We actually take diplomacy seriously in the Middle east instead of blowing stuff up and calling ourselves diplomats for it.

3.) You're more likely to get shot by a crazy person in the U.S. than to be blown up by a terrorist.

There is no other option at the moment. We continue targeting and killing the bad guys the best we can until a more efficient way of doing it is developed. But ignoring the terrorist threat and pretending it doesn't exist is no solution at all.

You should really read that FBI report I posted earlier. You know, the one where it clearly demonstrated that terrorism is only really a problem in the two countries we invaded. Everywhere else it's a very very rare occurrence.

I really would love for the US to announce that it was starting a plan to recall all troops from abroad, cut military spending drastically, and have a force primarily for defense of the homeland and a striking force that could be deployed if needed. I never said ignore terrorist threat. We have not been ignoring for years and what has happened, terrorists keep coming out of the woodwork no matter how many we kill. One reason is killing good guys makes the survivors bad guys and we never run out.

I've got a crazy idea. We could reduce our military budget, get out of all our wars and borderline wars, focus on diplomacy, and then focus what our military spending on defense instead of trying to enforce our way of life on cultures and people who don't want it. Democracy can't be forced on people, they have to find it themselves. We should be an encouraging voice for a more just society not a tool of force and destruction with the audacity to address itself as civil and well intentioned.
