Sigh
What is it in attempts to relate to me Christians always say something stupid. First and foremost why do they assume they automatically have the right to touch me. I don't need anyone to tell me that they're right there I can hear them fine. That kind of pisses me off and that's weird having strangers coming up to me and touching me. I always feel like saying I need an adult. Second I don't know what blind person they've been around but I don't need anyone to pray for me and I don't need them to try to heal. And if I hear one more person tell me about Jesus and the blind man I'm going to punch somebody. This turned into a little bit of a rant, sorry.

Actions speak louder than words. They should actually get your sight restored rather than give you a line.

My point is I'm okay with my blindness, I think it's really rude that Christians assume I want/need to be healed. First and foremost any other blind person would punch their lights out for touching them without permission, so I'm being rather kind. Second it's the patronizing attitude that's not okay.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could heal other people's illnesses and injuries, no matter how small or how big they were, just by touching them?

When I find a lamp with a genie in it, I'll wish for something like that, then I can heal everyone in the world! Wink
Just you wait!

Well speaking as a touch-type person, firstly I agree that it can make people feel awkward, although how much more awkward is a relationship with someone (eg friendship) if mere touching is beyond boundaries?

The WIN/Gallup End of Year Survey 2013 found the US was perceived to be the greatest threat to world peace by a huge margin, with 24% of respondents fearful of the US followed by: 8% for Pakistan, and 6% for China. This was followed by 5% each for: Afghanistan, Iran, Israel, North Korea. -LINK

"That's disgusting. There were clean athletes out there that have had their whole careers ruined by people like Lance Armstrong who just bended thoughts to fit their circumstances. He didn't look up cheating because he wanted to stop, he wanted to justify what he was doing and to keep that continuing on." - Nicole Cooke

I think this is more about strangers. And being touched as a blind person.

RE: Sigh
If you are blind how do you read and write? Do you have software that reads to you? do we all sound like Steven Hawkins? How did you pick your Jesus fish avatar? Does the software able to identify mispelled words and make corrections? is me picking your 'disablity' apart (Something that happens here alot) better than someone offering a prayer for you? Is being offended better than being pittied? If you don't want to be offended or pittied then what would you like? If to be treated like everyone else then why bring up, and center on what seperates you from everyone else?
